Singer, songwriter, producer and engineer, Andrxw, a Bronx, NY native is back and better than ever. With mixing credits on superstar projects like Kanye West’s “Donda 2”, Andrxw says “it’s my turn”, and is gearing up for the release of his Sophomore album with two singles - “Alone” being the first of the two.
“Alone”, is an introspective, airy anthem where Andrxw touches on the nuances of feeling an obligation to care for the ones around you and the desire to watch them succeed. The lyrics carry a subtle message of “I’m with you, I’m struggling too”. Andrxw’s vulnerability on “Alone” is on display within this track. He references his deceased grandmother being one of his driving forces - but not before mentioning he doesn’t need your co-sign to make it.

The track opens up with a light, almost playful synth leading into more majestic, harmonized vocal layers. Andrxw’s unique blend of genres are evident in “Alone.”, and you can really start to grasp where his potential influences may be coming from.

Upon first listen I found myself comparing the track to “Clouded”, by Brent Faiyaz - pretty vocals, a unique instrumental, and an easily digestible overall message. Personally, I love when an artist can hold out on the drums and build up a climax to a track - and Andrxw did an excellent job of this with “Alone”. I’m picturing a grand moment when all the elements of the song come together during a live performance.

Overall, I enjoyed this track. Momentum is key for any release and I think “Alone” was a great step in the right direction for a project I’m optimistic about. Give it a listen on all major streaming platforms.
