Kane Acosta, better known as Ashes to Amber, is taking over the LA indie/psychedelic scene. The senior at USC’s school of music has been making music since the age of 8, but only started releasing music to the world in 2018.

Now with a full-length project, multiple EPs, and a handful of singles, Acosta looks for new ways to connect with listeners. The best way to do this, you guessed it, is to release more music, and that is exactly what Acosta did. Just in time for Halloween, Ashes to Amber released 1976 Horror Movie Chick to get us into the holiday spirit.

The new single is a modern-day thriller. Mixing early 2000s California beach rock with psychedelic guitar chords; Ashes to Amber really creates an ambiance for a beautiful fall day in the late 70s.

When first hearing about Ashes to Amber through his viral hit, IRIS, I thought he could be a psychedelic-pop genius. Now with the release of 1976 Horror Movie Chick, I am convinced he is more than a genius, but a perfectionist in his craft. If you haven’t yet, check out Ashes to Amber’s new single, 1976 Horror Movie Chick.
