A majority of artists want to think outside the box, but there are few who already live outside of it. That rare treasure is Dora Jar. Many have transcended into Dora Jar’s  blue world with her most popular streaming single with over 190,000 Spotify streams, “Multiply. Listeners who are lured in by a folk-style fingerpicking of the guitar and whimsical vocals are taken by surprise when an electric, distorted, combustion of sounds swallows them whole. For an emerging artist to invoke this feeling of energy is refreshing. Dora Jar is already paving the way for a new level of musicality.
Dora Jar’s newest EP, “3 Songs” has opened the doors to what she references as her “dangerous dimension” in her music video for “Quiver.Teaming up with director Erica Snyder and editor Gabe Simon, the three produce eerily fascinating visuals. An unrestrained Dora Jar in act, moody blue-toned beach setting, glitch-like colored fast cuts… and beets. Inspired by the 1985 novel, Jitterbug Perfume, Dora Jar leaves us questioning and mean-making every step of the way.
