Hans Williams' Passionate "Body On My Shoulders"

Nineteen year old, Vermont native, Hans Williams releases his debut music video “Body On My Shoulders”.

Hans’ sound strays from the norm as he effortlessly combines aspects of folk with the growing alt-pop genre. His inspiration for the record comes from his personal experience in his first couple days while attending Tulane University. Tragically, one of Hans’ floormates committed suicide, leaving Hans’ feeling emotions of guilt and fear. In light of this event, Hans’ wrote this record as a way to help others overcome tragedy - especially those directly affected. Continually, Hans has pledged to donate the first $1,000 of this record to the JED Foundation, which protects mental heath and suicide prevention among young adults and teens.

Hans’ and his friend Ryan Murray set out to make a visual for this record back in August, and after four months the video is finally available to the public. Hans’ had this to say about the visual: “Given the personal nature of the story behind ‘Body on My Shoulders,’ we wanted to strike a balance between conveying my experience accurately while being respectful to those directly affected by the tragedy.” I believe Hans’ did just that, as the record is as beautiful and emotional visually, as it is sonically.

This is just the beginning for Hans’. We hope to hear more from him in the near future, but until then we’ll be right here bumping “Body On My Shoulders”.
