Honey Mooncie Is "Here For Me" (and you)

If you’re into neo-soul and jazz-pop, you’ll definitely like Honey Mooncie. The British artist was recently featured on Traingazing with Sam Wills but is now laying down her own tracks. Taking influence from Amy Winehouse, Honey’s newest release sonically paints a colorful picture of her style.

“Here For Me” is a beautiful love song that acknowledges a desire for more in a relationship. Honey’s jazzy vocals are graced by strings that move like the wind, which set the mood for the record, making a perfect introduction that feels incredibly grand. The instrumentation swaps for a light beat, keys, and a groovy bass line that all blend seamlessly with Honey’s vocals in the first verse. The chorus expands with the reintroduction of mellowing strings and reflective lyrics:

“The only time I hear from you is when you want me to be here for you.”

Honey’s harmonies echo throughout, adding even more intimacy to the track. It ends on a minimal note, allowing the keys to ring to their full capacity and give the listener a closer attachment to her voice.

Honey’s soulful approach to R&B is stunning. Her sound is reminiscent of the genre’s traditions yet contemporary enough to feel refreshing. Honey Mooncie is flourishing, and her future projects are sure to continue lighting up the U.K. neo-soul.
