Khazali is back with his new single “NYC to CDG,” here to give us a little taste of a summer as we await warmer days. The London-based singer-songwriter wasn’t kidding when he said he turns dream journals into songs; this effervescent track is an audible recreation of an eccentric dream.

Like many of his songs, “NYC to CDG” makes electronic feel natural. Khazali skirts the feeling of dancey and upbeat yet holds back enough to make this track a relaxed listen. Similar in style to artists like Blood Orange, Khazali merges different sounds to create an immersive sonic wall. His sound builds on this feeling of a dream that he aims to encapsulate, mixing soft vocals and harmonies with tempo changes and soft keyboard sounds.

It’s not often that a song can consume you, bringing you into its own unique world of sound and emotion, but Khazali is able to achieve just this. With just a few words, he’s able to depict this dream of his, full of promising love and excitement. It’s evident that his talent lies in his instrumental craft, and I’m excited to see what he has to create in the future. Be sure to check out “NYC to CDG” and be on the lookout for more to come from him this month.
