Liv.e is the Heart and Soul of the Dallas Music Scene
Bringing the soul from Dallas, Liv.e’s debut album from last summer, Couldn’t’ Wait to Tell You...is full of smooth riffs and diverse ideas. Pulling from a vast world of influence, Liv.e is able to create a dreamy storyline that radiates self-growth and positivity. Throughout the 20-track project, she has two standout tracks disguised under the names “Lessons From My Mistakes… But I Lost Your Number” and “You The One Fish In The Sea” that leave you feeling woozy, yet recharged. As she layers her hypnotic voice over dusty loops and jazzy production, Liv.e finds a way to bring her eclectic art to the table without sounding outdated.
More recently, Liv.e revisited “You The One Fish In The Sea” to remind us how fire she is and also dropped a video to match. The song itself is full of pensive vocals and tranquil keys – reminiscent of the queen, Erykah Badu. With her raspy voice she sings, “Oh baby boy / You know you’re the only thing / That’s on my mind,” hankering for the love to be reciprocated on the other end. In spite of the single being released last year, Liv.e finds a way to bring it back with a fresh visual. Working with Cole Daly & Ava Doorley,the team was able to blend the dark backgrounds with bright ambient colors, to create the perfect video that looks like what the album sounds like.
The 22-year-old artist is a true creative. Her album Couldn’t Wait to Tell You.. and her single “You The One Fish In The Sea” are truly compelling and go against the grain of todays sound. Liv.e is a gem, and we are totally her for it!
