OTF Mk is Making a Presence, "Let It Be Known"

Over the past decade we can all agree that the Chicago music scene has spoke into existence. From artists such as Chief Keef, Lil Durk, FBG Duck, and the late King Von; the Windy City is one of the hottest spots for today’s generation of Hip Hop and is producing generational talent. 2020 so far has been another year which displayed the talents of Chicago. With artists including Polo G, Lil Eazzyy, and Bigkaybeezy being standouts, we now plan out the next wave of artists who will continue that momentum. Let’s take a look at OTF Mk and his newest single “Let it be known".”
Releasing music over two years ago, Mk has not been a fairly new name from the city of Chicago. Dropping a few EP’s early on in his career, it was not until this past year where I really began to take a dive into his music. Mk’s “Kick Yo Door” was the first which caught my attention, leading to today's topic of his newest single “Let it Be Known".”
Featuring Memo600 and produced by prodbymaster, “Let it Be Known” is one of those tracks that is exceptional because of the combination of lyricism, balance in flows and an underrated instrumental. Showing serious improvements from his previous music, Mk displays his writing capabilities, a new stature to his craft. Memo600 provides his share of this track, executing a catchy verse that really shows why he is also one of the hottest rappers out of Chicago.
2020 has definitely had its ups and down. With the late passing of Von and the current battle against Coronavirus, artists such as OTF Mk and Memo600 give us hope for the next wave of Chicago artists that will blossom in becoming mainstream talents. For now, we pay our respects and hope for the best for 2021.
