Since99 Raps in Times New Roman

This week you may have heard about the new “Rap Game Cole Bennett.” Maybe you’ve seen memes of a white rapper in your feed. This post might be your introduction to him. However you come across Since99, one thing is for sure: he’s here to stay. The Ann Arbor, Michigan native dropped the video to “Immaculate,” his collaboration with BasedNas earlier this week and it’s going viral. It would be unfair to say that Since99 hasn’t been putting in work prior to this week. His record “Shalom” got some attention across streaming platforms, but “Immaculate” is something special. The record is quite quick, clocking in at just under two minutes. Despite its brevity, the music video is nothing short of legendary. Shot by Jack Rottier, the music video features Since99 surrounded by his homies, flexing money and jewelry in a mansion. None of this is out of the ordinary for a rap video, but about Since99’s demeanor in this environment is the perfect mix of hysterical, compelling, and badass.
The best description of his rapping style is that it sounds white- not in a bad way. Some elements of his voice and flow are reminiscent of Yung Gravy. His flow is DMV influenced and his bars include everything from shout outs to his plug, to running from the cops, to gun references. His image is perfect too. He’s fresh. Rocking a puffy Moncler, Since99 wants the people to know he’s got drip. In another scene, a Bape hoodie on his back, he dances with BasedNas, not missing a beat. That’s another awesome component of the video- BasedNas and Since99 have an electric relationship. They just seem to have a very genuine friendship and it shows in their chemistry on wax and on camera. I could write about “Immaculate” all day, but a million words wouldn’t do this record and video any justice.
