Don Quez is a rapper out of Stockton, California who first found big success with his single “TIM” which featured Daddex. With over 1-million streams on Spotify and over 700-thousand views on the almost 2-year-old single, Quez has recently released two different songs that show his music range.

The first is “SKI” which originally released in a three track EP last year called “Phoenix”. The instrumental carries a dark tone to it with heavy 808’s and a melodic percussion chord that is hard to forget. Quez has a cadence shift which is triggered by someone telling him to “calm down”. The main message coming from Quez’s vengeful verses is for him to receive the respect and acknowledgement he deserves after gaining attention for his past music.

While the “Phoenix” EP seems to be filled with a fiery motivation to find more success, Quez changes his perspective and tone with his single “WHEN CLOUDS WEEP” which features some angelic vocals from ALXNDR BLUE. The song carries soft and warm guitar chords that are paired with some soulful backup vocals that lay a foundation for an introspective Quez who talks about connecting back to his old self and what he wants for his future. The song's instrumental is filled with such a real-world journey of self-discovery carrying pockets of high and low emotions.

Quez’s has been making music for over four years now, and his potential is still strong. I’m excited to see what he has in store for this year.
