“NO COMPLY” serves as a bold statement from this crew. NODID and iyasu paint a picture of the journey of self determination and discovery. Both artists deliver raw lyrics on this gritty beat which fits perfectly. NODID starts off the song with his braggadocious tone, one that has been crafted over time sounding impeccable. NODID sounds like a vet in this rap game, and it’s hard to believe that this sound is coming out of Mississauga.

Up next we have iyasu who matches NODID’s energy and comes into his verse flawlessly. After hearing iyasu start his verse, I immediately pictured this to be a cypher– because this song has all the elements of a cypher. Hard beat and hard bars. Iyasu finds some crazy pockets within the beat, finding some insane rhyme schemes. Personally, I love how he ends his verse with “a person ain’t a person when those imperfections gone / God fucked me up then so I could write this song.”  One of the many lines that I enjoyed from his stellar verse.

Now, let's talk about production. Drodozer the sample flipper produced this hard hitting instrumental. From the pulsating sample to the crunching drums you can feel this instrumental come to life. I could listen to this instrumental all day and not get sick of it.

The song's album art also perfectly depicts the message of this song. When looking at the album art with face value, it could literally mean if you play this song in your car, that is how you’re going to end up. A more metaphorical meaning could be that the burning car signifies leaving an unwanted past and driving forward into a new beginning.

Let me know what you guys think on twitter @malonethechemist, and drive safely if you’re playing this in the car.
