Damn, Lil Cherry is a G!

A “G” can mean a lot of things; a person, currency, gas, me, the universal gravitational constant. Lil Cherry (릴체리) is a G!, and using the word “gravitational'' to describe her new single is quite fitting, but we’ll get to that later. Lil Cherry, born as Jung Sunwoo, has quietly been putting out some of the most unique rap I’ve heard in a very long time. 

What makes her sound unique is that it comes from many different places. She’s grown up in New York, Miami, and Seoul, which all come with a different flavor in her music. It’s very easy for  listeners of different backgrounds to enjoy her one-of-a-kind catalog. Her debut album SAUCE TALK, and her most recent album CHEF TALK, both have their own individual waves. Her first album has a smoother, late-night vibe to it with tracks such as Mona Lisa and lime rari. Her most recent album, a collaboration with fellow Sauce Cartel member GOLDBUUDA, is noticeably more experimental with some OG southern trap sprinkled in tracks such as 하늘천따지 1000 Words and Is Hot! 

She picked up right where she left off with the track G! which traps us in two and a half minutes of the craziest songs you’ve ever heard. It’s an instant burst of energy which infects anybody in the radius, which will likely be pretty large because this track is meant to be cranked up.
