Listening to Nyco during "Indigo Hours"

Born and raised in Germany but holding a Chinese background, contemporary artist Nyco (“knee - co”) struggled with belongingness during her upbringing. Aimed towards empowering others through her own expressions and intricacies in sound, Nyco’s newest project Indigo Hours is a powerhouse of emotions, delivering unparalleled melodies in coherent with magical production.

Throughout Nyco’s music career, her evolution of sound and composition choice has been most notable since her debut project Cmyk released in 2018. The artist’s growth has not only shown the maturity in what she envisions but displays the fine details she emphasizes in her music. Nyco’s experimentation and ear for song choice has brought her into a new category of contemporary artist, redefining the term and standards of contemporary music.

If you are looking for beautiful harmonies in conjunction to grand production, Indigo Hours is indeed the project for you. Starting off the project with “A Story Worth Telling”, the song is built around a gentle foundation, where piano keys and violin melodies commence an emotional storyline. Songs such as “Wander” shine light on the elegant vocals by the German born artist, transitioning into an infatuating switch up in production nearing the end of the track. A personal favorite of mine, “Interworld” focuses on ambience, where listeners can conceptualize an “Interstellar” type visual appeal to the track, a perfect ending to a dynamic project.

Nyco may be considered an emerging artist in today’s music scene but the artist is well beyond polished in the scene she resides. Her impressive ear for composition, and delicate vocals are qualities any artist needs trying to break out into the music space and she will continue to strive as a outstanding artist.
