The creativity and influence of one’s music continuously drives an artist’s vision. For the likes of Soren or better known as his moniker tsubi club, the Burbank, California native knows exactly how to articulate his creative juices into a sporadic tune of emotions. Debuting his first single under his artist name, Soren delivers an outwardly single in “Burbank House”, a genre-blending track bursting with anime references and innovative production.

Very reminiscent of the influences of hyperpop and the modernized sounds of alternative punk, “Burbank House” is a track driven by familiarity and a vision. With hints of early 2000s rock melodies merging with the experimental sounds of hyperpop, the track fills its own lane as a sound that is needed in today’s music scene. Soren’s appealing vocals over an authoritative punk rock riff are a perfect match, guiding listeners into an addictive hook that sounds oh so familiar. Maybe it’s the sentiments of feeling uplifting and energetic to the song, or a younger version of me envisioning early 2000s tv-shows soundtracks, “Burbank House” is a song everyone needs to give a listen at any time of day.

Directed by Soren with the help of James Baby and friends, the “Burbank House” music video is a discussion of its own. With African Jelly Art handling the animation, graphics illustrated by aletiune, and typography designed by yoff, the creative alignment to this music video is chef’s kiss. Taking many influences from animes such as “FLCL”, the fast-paced, irregular cuts in the music video really are visualization to the track, giving Soren full creativity to an already thrilling track. Teasing snippets of the song and music video on tik tok, Soren begins to build a loyal fanbase of his own, gravitating listeners and creatives who truly enjoy his art and vision.

Other than “Burbank House”, there isn’t much that we know about the musician from California. The one I can say is this, tsubi club has only continued to gain support with artists such as Aries praising the direction and innovativeness the artist is going for.
