Chicago’s very own, Lil Zay Osama, shows us what it means to be a trench baby with his latest project release titled, Trench Baby. With appearances from G Herbo, Lil Tjay, Doe Boy and Jackboy, Zay takes his fans and listeners on a journey to his upbringing and lifestyle in the streets of South Side Chicago. Pledging to stay true to his roots, Zay returns to his original sound of “pain music” on Trench Baby and reminds us why he is one of the best storytellers of the streets today.

Following his successful 2019 release, Hood Bible, a diverse breakthrough project that illustrated his versatility and ability to switch up the flow, Zay wanted to revert back to his truest and most raw version of his sound on Trench Baby. With the production efforts from likes of Mario On Da Beat, JTK, Chew Chew and more, Osama’s 15-track album illustrates trauma, heartbreak, and introspection of being a trench baby.

“My mindset when I was recording Trench Baby was I had to give my fans the real me again, so they feel it in their heart,” Zay notes. “Just because I got money and fame, doesn’t mean the problems stop. We’re still going through a lot of pain and struggle.”

Gaining support from the talented A&R, Jeff Juin, and knowledgeable managers, Kamau “KM” Brunson and Mikkey Halstead, Lil Zay Osama is on a path to becoming an unstoppable presence in rap for the upcoming 2021 season.
