Internet pop-princess moistbreezy, best known for her fizzy dance single “Planet Pleasure,” has created a chrome-plated world of her own. Her dedication to being a digital multi-hyphenate, dabbling in singer-songwriting, DJing, and creating her own visuals and covers hasn’t gone unnoticed. She’s returned with Pure Imagination, an album that resembles an early 2000’s greatest hits CD dug out from a shoebox under your childhood bed.

It’s an upbeat window into a relationship that never actually existed. “There’s this phrase called limerence, which is like creating a fantasy relationship where it’s more in your head,” she explains, telling me that it was the inspiration for the album, based on the artist’s own experiences with a brief online relationship during Covid-19 that didn’t quite work out.

“There’s no traditional slow ballads” she laughs. The tracks on Pure Imagination stand on their own as cute 2000’s dance-pop hits, perfect for summer nights out with the girls and a half-spilled Vodka Redbull. The pop-adjacent artist has been making waves in the community long before the explosion of the Hyperpop sphere in 2020. Creating her own visuals and often working with a team consisting of herself or a few others, she’s been working hard to make herself known in the digital world and beyond. Her unique ability to create something heartfelt and introspective, yet glassy and fresh has been a driving force in her continual success within her cult following.

Pure Imagination is a testament to moistbreezy’s innovation and passion, adding to her digital diary of half-imagined relationships and longing for something truly special.
