Kidd Kenn is a fresh face with a plan.

At 18 years old, Kidd Kenn has the world at his fingertips and is embracing every minute of it. Dedicated from a young age, the rapper quickly found success online after posting remixes of popular tracks by G Herbo, King Von and Desiigner. Freshly after graduating from high school, Kidd Kenn signed to Island Records. Since then, he has consistently dropped bangers and he is quickly building a cult following. The artist, also known as Ken Double N, is cute, charismatic, extremely dedicated and talented. It’s hard not to root for someone so young with this much potential.

Kidd Kenn is heavily inspired by his hometown, the south side of Chicago, and incorporates the Chicago drill scene into his work. It’s electrifying, it’s fun, it’s cool. Most of all, it’s dirty. Kidd Kenn mainly raps about money, success, and of course, sex. The rapper combines raunchy, quick witted lyrics with fluid flows, so seamlessly that you don’t even realize how dirty the bar was until you’ve processed it. In tracks like “Benji” and “B4” he balances both feminine and masculine sexuality with style and ease, making him stand out amongst his peers. The music is fresh and familiar with clear drill, hip hop and pop influences, but has a unique energy that only Kidd Kenn can bring. The charisma can be felt just by listening, but the visuals take it to new heights. He is a natural performer but honestly, besides the obvious talent, the catchphrase ‘Stop playin’!’ is enough to get you hooked from the first listen.

The young rapper recently collaborated with Target for Target x NY Pride and was featured on BET’s Hip Hop Awards Cypher, a freestyle segment for up and coming rappers. Kidd Kenn made history as the first openly gay rapper to be featured on the segment, and completely bodied his freestyle. His latest EP, Problem Child, dropped this summer. Take a listen to “Freestyle” featuring Delli Boe below.
